The theme-based approach is a way of teaching and learning whereby many areas of the curriculum are connected together and integrated within a theme.
This themed learning week relies on colleagues and students in our schools, colleges and universities, working together across subject areas and support departments to develop a climate focused learning experience during the course of that week. Students will then have a range of different opportunities to engage in learning and activities related to understanding the climate and ecological crisis.
The focus of previous climate learning weeks saw schools, colleges and universities across the UK organising themed learning weeks around climate change, power and society. The aim to ensure that young people are informed and empowered to address the urgency of the climate crisis.
Great examples of where themed learning weeks have been successful can be seen here.
